Biográfica/histórica
Irene Jaievsky, escultora y escenógrafa, egresada del Instituto Superior del Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires. Curadora de arte en Museo del Holocausto de Buenos Aires (2001-2005); Museo de Arquitectura y Diseño de Buenos Aires (2003-2007); Galería Arte y Parte (2008-2010); y Museo de la Mujer de Buenos Aires (de 2010). Curadora muestras temporarias en New York, Boston, and Paris. Buenos Aires Centro Cultural Recoleta, Casa de la Cultura, Museo Judío, Fondo Nacional de las Artes entre otros). Curadora y gestora muestra itinerante por USA y Latinoamerica de catorce libros de poemas ilustrados por artistas judeolatinoamericanos (2011-2012). Becaria el Fundación Antorchas, Nahum Goldman Foundation, Getty Foundation, Smithsonian Institute, Jewish Theological Seminary de New York, y Task Force, entre otras. Conferencias dictadas en congresos internacionales del ICOM (Consejo Internacional de Museos) en Viena y en México; en el One by One Meeting en Riverdale, New York; y en Northeastern University en Boston entre otros.
Biographical/historical
Irene Jaievsky, a sculptor and scenery designer, graduated from the Advanced Institute of the Colón Theater in Buenos Aires. She has served as art curator of the Buenos Aires Museum of the Holocaust (2001-2005) and curator and manager of the Buenos Aires Museum of Art and Design (2003-2007), the Arte y Parte art gallery (2008-2010), and the Women's Museum of Buenos Aires (2010). In Buenos Aires, she has been the curator at the Recoleta Cultural Center, the House of Culture, the Jewish Museum, and the National Fund for the Arts, among others. She has acted as curator of temporary art shows in New York City, Boston, and Paris, and served as advisor to a traveling show to fourteen artist's books containing Latin American Jewish poetry and artworks in the United States and Mexico (2011-2012). She has won fellowships from the Antorchas Foundation, the Nahum Goldman Foundation, the Getty Foundation, the Smithsonian Institute, the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, and the Task Force, among others. She has lectured at conferences of the International Council of Museums held in Vienna and Mexico City; at the One by One meeting in Riverdale, New York; and at Northeastern University in Boston, among other institutions.
